Position: VMware Developer

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $171000 - $208000

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain VMware-based solutions to support the company's virtualization needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop and enhance automation scripts to streamline the deployment and management of VMware infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to VMware infrastructure.
• Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions to enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of the VMware environment.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest VMware technologies and industry trends to provide recommendations for future enhancements and upgrades.
• Conduct performance testing and tuning of VMware infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for VMware infrastructure and processes.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for critical issues related to VMware infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the security team to ensure VMware infrastructure is compliant with company security standards.
• Mentor and train junior team members on VMware best practices and processes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing VMware infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of VMware products such as vSphere, vCenter, vRealize Operations, and NSX.
• Experience with automation tools such as PowerCLI, Ansible, or Puppet.
• In-depth understanding of virtualization concepts and technologies.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP, VCIX) are a plus.
