Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead NLP Engineer to join our team. As a Lead NLP Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of natural language processing (NLP) solutions to enhance our products and services. You will work closely with our data scientists, software engineers, and other cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge NLP solutions that deliver exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of NLP engineers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.
• Drive the development and implementation of NLP solutions, including text classification, sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, and language translation.
• Collaborate with data scientists to develop machine learning models and algorithms for NLP tasks.
• Design and implement NLP pipelines to process large volumes of unstructured data.
• Identify and implement improvements to existing NLP models and algorithms.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in NLP and apply them to enhance our products and services.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality and maintainable code.
• Communicate project updates, progress, and challenges to stakeholders, including non-technical team members.
• Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new NLP engineers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in NLP development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or mentorship role.
• Strong expertise in NLP techniques, including text preprocessing, word embedding, and sequence labeling.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, with experience in NLP libraries and frameworks (e.g., NLTK, spaCy, TensorFlow).
• Hands-on experience with machine learning and deep learning techniques for NLP (e.g., SVM, LSTM, BERT).
• Experience with NLP platforms and tools, such as GATE, Apache OpenNLP, or Stanford CoreNLP.
• Familiarity with cloud computing and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and analytically.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality NLP solutions within tight deadlines.
• Passion for staying updated with the latest advancements in NLP and using them to drive innovation.
• Prior experience in the healthcare or financial industry is a plus.
