Job Title: Principal Natural Language Processing Engineer

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $138 Per hour

Job Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Principal Natural Language Processing (NLP) Engineer to join our growing team. As a Principal NLP Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing cutting-edge NLP solutions to address complex language-related challenges in our products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers, to deliver high-quality, scalable NLP solutions that enhance user experience and drive business value. This is a senior-level role that requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of NLP solutions for our products
• Conduct research and experiment with state-of-the-art NLP techniques and algorithms to solve complex language-related problems
• Develop and maintain NLP models, pipelines, and workflows for data preprocessing, feature extraction, and model training
• Collaborate with data scientists to identify and collect relevant data sources, and perform data analysis and feature engineering to support NLP tasks
• Work closely with software engineers to integrate NLP models and pipelines into our products
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in NLP technologies and techniques, and evaluate their potential impact on our products
• Mentor and coach junior NLP engineers, and provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams
• Collaborate with product managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Participate in code reviews, and ensure that NLP codebase is well-maintained, documented, and follows best practices
• Identify and address technical debt, and continuously improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of our NLP solutions
• Communicate and present technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of industry experience in Natural Language Processing, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role
• Strong understanding of NLP concepts, such as text classification, sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, and part-of-speech tagging
• Extensive experience with NLP libraries and frameworks, such as NLTK, SpaCy, Gensim, and TensorFlow
• Proficient in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, or C++, and experience with data manipulation and analysis using SQL
• Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model training using tools like pandas, scikit-learn, and Keras
• In-depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms, such as SVM, Random Forest, and deep learning architectures like RNN, CNN, and Transformer
• Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
