Position: Principal Information Security Engineer

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $320000 - $360000

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Information Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Principal Information Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing security strategies, policies, and procedures to protect our organization's information assets. You will be responsible for identifying potential security threats, conducting risk assessments, and implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of information security strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard our organization's information assets.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and maintain security standards, procedures, and guidelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement security controls and measures to protect our systems, networks, and data.
• Stay updated with emerging threats and vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for their mitigation.
• Lead the investigation of security incidents and provide timely and effective responses to security breaches.
• Develop and maintain security awareness training programs for employees to educate them on best security practices.
• Conduct regular security audits and penetration testing to identify weaknesses and areas for improvement.
• Monitor security systems and tools to detect and respond to security incidents.
• Collaborate with external security vendors and partners to implement security solutions and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security engineers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of security principles, protocols, and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption, and secure network design.
• Experience in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Strong understanding of risk management and vulnerability management processes.
• Experience in conducting security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are preferred.
