Position: API Documentation Specialist

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $97 Per hour

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced API Documentation Specialist to join our growing team. As an API Documentation Specialist, you will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining documentation for our company's APIs. This is a crucial role as our APIs serve as the backbone of our products and services, enabling seamless integration with external partners and clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional writing skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and technical writers, to understand the functionality and features of our APIs.
• Write clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation for our APIs, including API references, guides, and tutorials.
• Ensure that all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and in line with industry standards.
• Conduct regular reviews and audits of existing API documentation to identify and address any gaps or inconsistencies.
• Work closely with the development team to identify and document any changes or updates to our APIs.
• Manage the documentation process, including version control, review cycles, and publishing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the software development industry.
• Strong understanding of API design principles and best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
• Proficient in using documentation tools and platforms, such as Swagger, Postman, and GitHub.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
