Job Title: Junior Virtualization Engineer

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $69 Per hour

Job Summary: Our company is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Junior Virtualization Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Junior Virtualization Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our virtualization infrastructure. You will work closely with our senior engineers to ensure the smooth operation of our virtualization environment and provide support to our end-users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design and implementation of our virtualization infrastructure, including servers, storage, and network components
• Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of our virtualization environment, ensuring high availability and performance
• Participate in the planning and execution of virtualization projects, including upgrades and migrations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve virtualization-related issues
• Monitor virtualization systems and proactively identify and resolve any performance or capacity issues
• Create and maintain documentation related to virtualization systems and processes
• Stay updated with the latest virtualization technologies and make recommendations for improvements to our infrastructure
• Provide support to end-users, troubleshoot and resolve virtualization-related issues
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for virtualization systems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
• 1-2 years of experience in a virtualization engineering role
• Strong understanding of virtualization technologies, such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM
• Experience with server and storage hardware, as well as network components
• Knowledge of scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery processes and tools
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Industry certifications, such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) are a plus
