Job Title: Principal Virtualization Engineer

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $138 Per hour

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Virtualization Engineer to join our dynamic team. As the Principal Virtualization Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our virtualization infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our virtualized environment meets the needs of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain our virtualization infrastructure, including hypervisors, virtual machines, and related tools.
• Develop virtualization strategies and solutions that align with the company's goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their virtualization needs and provide technical guidance and support.
• Monitor and optimize virtualized environments to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any virtualization-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Develop and maintain documentation for virtualization systems and processes.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in virtualization technologies and make recommendations for improvements.
• Lead and mentor junior virtualization engineers, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure the virtualization infrastructure meets their expectations.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities and provide support during off-hours as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in virtualization engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware, Hyper-V, and KVM.
• Strong understanding of network and storage technologies and their impact on virtualized environments.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools, such as PowerShell and Ansible.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certifications, such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP) and Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), are a plus.
