Position: Data Compliance Officer

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $92 Per hour

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Compliance Officer to join our team. As a Data Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our company complies with all relevant data protection regulations and guidelines. This is a critical role in our organization as we handle a large amount of sensitive and confidential data. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data privacy laws and regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement data protection policies and procedures in compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Monitor and assess the company's data processing activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Conduct regular audits to identify potential areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions
• Provide training and support to employees on data protection practices and procedures
• Respond to data subject requests and inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Coordinate with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies as needed
• Stay up-to-date on changes and developments in data protection laws and regulations and make recommendations for necessary updates to company policies and procedures
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential data protection risks and develop plans to mitigate them
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data privacy is considered in all aspects of the business
• Lead investigations into data breaches and work with relevant stakeholders to implement remediation plans
• Maintain accurate records of data processing activities and ensure data protection policies are documented and easily accessible

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field such as law, business, or information technology
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data protection and compliance, preferably in a regulated industry
• Strong understanding of data privacy laws and regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA
• Experience developing and implementing data protection policies and procedures
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification is a plus
