Position: Senior Cyber Defense Engineer

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $190000 - $224000

Overview: Our company is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Cyber Defense Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Cyber Defense Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive cyber defense strategies to protect our company's critical assets and data from cyber threats. You will work closely with our IT and security teams to assess risks, identify vulnerabilities, and implement effective defense measures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cyber security, a deep understanding of current and emerging cyber threats, and the ability to think strategically to develop innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of our company's cyber defense strategy.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and develop mitigation plans.
• Design, implement, and maintain advanced cyber defense systems, tools, and processes.
• Monitor and analyze network traffic and system logs to identify potential threats and respond accordingly.
• Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures.
• Conduct regular security audits and penetration testing to ensure the effectiveness of our defenses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and improve security policies and procedures.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cyber security trends, tools, and techniques.
• Mentor and train junior members of the cyber defense team.
• Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on the status of our cyber defense efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber security, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of cyber security principles, best practices, and industry standards.
• Experience with a variety of security tools, including intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewalls, and anti-malware software.
• Familiarity with network protocols, operating systems, and web applications.
• Experience with incident response and handling security incidents.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are preferred.
