Job Title: Systems Operations Engineer

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $92 Per hour

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Operations Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Systems Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our company's technology infrastructure. You will work closely with our development, operations, and security teams to ensure the smooth functioning of our systems and applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for working in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain the company's technology infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance, reliability, and security
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions for system enhancements and improvements
• Implement and maintain system monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential issues
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides
• Manage system backups and disaster recovery plans to ensure the integrity and availability of critical data
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve system operations
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and incident response
• Identify opportunities for automation and implement processes to streamline system operations
• Train and mentor junior team members on system operations tasks and procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems administration or operations role
• Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs
• Experience with configuration management tools, such as Puppet, Ansible, or Chef
• Working knowledge of database administration, including MySQL and SQL Server
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing business needs
• Relevant certifications, such as RHCE, MCSE, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, are a plus
