Job Title: Principal Reinforcement Learning Engineer

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $270000 - $310000

As a Principal Reinforcement Learning Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of talented engineers in developing cutting-edge reinforcement learning algorithms and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and deploy scalable and robust RL solutions to solve complex business problems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of engineers in developing and deploying reinforcement learning algorithms and systems
• Conduct research and experimentation to improve existing reinforcement learning models and develop new ones
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and define business problems that can be solved using reinforcement learning techniques
• Design and implement scalable and robust RL systems that can handle large amounts of data
• Ensure the quality and performance of RL models through rigorous testing and validation
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in reinforcement learning and incorporate them into the company's systems
• Mentor and coach junior team members to help them grow and develop their skills
• Work closely with product managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Collaborate with data scientists to integrate RL models into larger machine learning pipelines
• Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and ensure coding standards are met
• Communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders
• Contribute to the company's intellectual property by filing patents and publishing research papers

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years of experience in reinforcement learning
• Strong understanding of reinforcement learning concepts, algorithms, and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras
• Hands-on experience with developing and deploying RL models in real-world applications
• Experience with deep learning frameworks and techniques is a plus
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality and scalable solutions
• Published research papers or filed patents in the field of reinforcement learning is a plus
