Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Big Data Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Big Data Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our company's Big Data infrastructure and ensuring its smooth functioning. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage data solutions that meet our business needs. The ideal candidate for this role should have a strong background in data management, hands-on experience with Big Data technologies, and excellent leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the overall operations of our Big Data infrastructure, including data ingestion, storage, processing, and analytics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design data solutions to meet those needs.
• Define and implement best practices for data management, data governance, and data security.
• Manage and mentor a team of data engineers and data analysts to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of data solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data processing pipelines to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.
• Work closely with data scientists and analysts to optimize data models and algorithms for better performance.
• Partner with IT teams to ensure the integration and compatibility of our Big Data infrastructure with other systems and technologies.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in Big Data technologies and make recommendations for their implementation.
• Create and maintain documentation for all data processes, systems, and procedures.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for Big Data tools and services.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in data management and operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Kafka.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Java.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex data projects and delivering high-quality solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate team members.
• Analytical mindset with a strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of data governance and compliance regulations is a plus.
