Key Responsibilities:

Review and verify accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information
Enter and submit claims to various insurance companies and government agencies
Identify and resolve any claim rejections or denials
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and appeal when necessary
Communicate with insurance companies and patients to resolve billing inquiries
Maintain updated knowledge of insurance regulations and guidelines
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations
Monitor and report on claim status and reimbursement trends
Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing issues and improve processes
Keep accurate records and documentation of all billing activities

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in healthcare billing preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing
Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding
Proficient in using billing software and electronic medical record systems
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Knowledge of insurance regulations and guidelines
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
