Location: San Francisco, California, United States
Salary: $171000 - $208000
Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Hadoop Developer to join our growing team. As a Hadoop Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our Hadoop-based applications. You will work closely with our data scientists, data analysts, and other developers to ensure the smooth functioning of our big data infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Hadoop-based applications to process and analyze large volumes of data
- Implement data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions using Hadoop ecosystem tools such as HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Pig, and Spark
- Optimize and tune Hadoop applications for performance and scalability
- Work with data scientists and data analysts to understand their requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to Hadoop infrastructure and applications
- Develop and maintain documentation for the Hadoop applications and processes
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Hadoop and big data technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Hadoop solutions with other systems
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing Hadoop applications
- Strong understanding of Hadoop architecture and ecosystem tools
- Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and services such as AWS or Azure
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes
- Knowledge of machine learning and data mining techniques
- Experience with agile software development methodologies
- Certification in Hadoop or big data technologies
