Position: System Engineer
Location: San Francisco, California, United States
Salary: $152000 - $192000
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role: As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex computer systems for our company. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our systems. This role requires a strong understanding of hardware, software, and network infrastructure, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement computer systems that meet the business requirements of our company.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve system-related problems.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Implement security measures to protect the company's systems and data.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance system performance and functionality.
- Conduct regular system backups and disaster recovery tests.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in technology to improve system efficiency.
- Train and support end-users to ensure proper usage of the systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a System Engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with scripting languages, such as PowerShell or Bash.
- Knowledge of security protocols and best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to find solutions to complex problems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
