Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $97 Per hour

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Technical Designer to join our team. As a Technical Designer, you will play a crucial role in the development and production of our products. You will work closely with the design team to bring their ideas to life, ensuring that they are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will be essential in creating high-quality, well-constructed products that meet our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the design team to translate their concepts and sketches into detailed technical drawings and specifications
• Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create accurate and precise technical drawings
• Develop and maintain technical specifications, including materials, construction methods, and sizing
• Conduct research on new materials, techniques, and technologies to improve product design and development
• Create prototypes and samples to test and refine designs
• Work closely with patternmakers, sample makers, and production teams to ensure designs are executed correctly and efficiently
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve any technical issues that may arise during the production process
• Conduct fit sessions and make necessary adjustments to ensure garments fit properly and meet design specifications
• Create and maintain technical design documentation, including tech packs, measurement charts, and construction details
• Communicate and collaborate with overseas factories to ensure designs are accurately produced and delivered on time
• Stay current on industry trends and advancements in technical design, and make recommendations for improvement and innovation within the company

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical design, preferably in the fashion industry
• Proficient in CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong technical and patternmaking skills, with a deep understanding of garment construction and fit
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Knowledge of overseas production processes and experience working with factories is a plus
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, if needed
