About the Role: Lobox is seeking a highly skilled and experienced UNIX Support Engineer to join our growing team. As a UNIX Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our clients and ensuring the smooth operation of our UNIX-based systems. You will work closely with our development and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues, as well as implement improvements and updates to our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to clients using our UNIX-based systems, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to performance, connectivity, and functionality.
• Collaborate with the development and infrastructure teams to implement updates, upgrades, and patches to our UNIX-based systems.
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify and address any potential issues.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and user manuals.
• Communicate with clients and other team members in a timely and professional manner to ensure efficient and effective resolution of technical issues.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in UNIX-based systems, and make recommendations for improvements and optimizations to our systems.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of years of experience in a technical support role, with a focus on UNIX-based systems.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems, including command-line utilities and shell scripting.
• Experience with system administration and configuration management tools (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members.
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, OpenStack) is a plus.
• Certification in UNIX/Linux administration (e.g. LPIC, Red Hat Certified Engineer) is a plus.
