Job Title: Principal NLP Engineer

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $138 Per hour

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal NLP Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team. As a Principal NLP Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving the development and implementation of our Natural Language Processing (NLP) solutions. Your expertise in NLP techniques, algorithms, and tools will be instrumental in advancing our technology and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in this field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of NLP solutions for a variety of applications, such as chatbots, virtual assistants, sentiment analysis, and text summarization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers, to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Conduct research and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in NLP, and identify opportunities to incorporate new techniques and tools into our solutions
• Develop and maintain NLP models and algorithms, and ensure their scalability, accuracy, and robustness
• Perform data analysis and preprocessing to prepare datasets for training and testing NLP models
• Conduct experiments and perform evaluations to assess the performance of NLP models and identify areas for improvement
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior NLP engineers, and lead code reviews and technical discussions to ensure high-quality code and adherence to best practices
• Collaborate with the DevOps team to deploy and monitor NLP models in production, and troubleshoot any issues that arise
• Communicate and present technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and participate in conferences and industry events to showcase our NLP capabilities

Qualifications:

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field with a focus on Natural Language Processing
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in NLP, with a strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical methods
• Extensive experience with NLP libraries and frameworks, such as NLTK, spaCy, Gensim, and TensorFlow
• Proven track record of delivering NLP solutions from conception to deployment, and experience with end-to-end NLP pipeline development
• Strong programming skills in Python, and experience with other languages such as Java, Scala, or C++
• Knowledge of big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka, and experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
• Excellent understanding of NLP concepts and techniques, such as text classification, named entity recognition, topic modeling, and word embeddings
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Passion for learning and keeping up with the latest advancements in NLP and AI
