Job Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced API Developer to design, develop, and maintain APIs that connect our software applications with external systems. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of API development, web services, and RESTful architecture. The API Developer will work closely with our cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of our APIs with our existing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain APIs for our software applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand business needs.
- Create technical specifications and documentation for APIs.
- Develop API integration strategies and guidelines for internal and external use.
- Implement and maintain API security protocols.
- Monitor and troubleshoot API performance issues.
- Work closely with front-end developers to ensure the smooth integration of APIs with user interfaces.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in API development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an API Developer or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of API development, web services, and RESTful architecture.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
- Experience with API management tools and platforms such as Apigee, Mulesoft, or Kong.
- Familiarity with API security protocols such as OAuth and JWT.
- Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
