Job Type: Contract

Salary: $97 Per hour

Lobox is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Big Data Operations Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with large amounts of data and possess the technical skills to support and maintain our Big Data infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to expand their knowledge and skills in the field of Big Data Operations.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain the health and performance of our Big Data infrastructure, including Hadoop clusters, Spark, and other related technologies
• Troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues in a timely manner
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions to improve system performance and reliability
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate processes and tasks
• Manage and monitor data backups and disaster recovery procedures
• Conduct regular system audits and implement security measures to ensure data integrity and confidentiality
• Stay current with industry trends and make recommendations for improvements to our Big Data infrastructure
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
• Provide technical support to end-users and assist with training as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 1-2 years of experience in Big Data Operations or a similar role
• Strong knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, Hive, and Spark
• Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Java, Python, Scala)
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
