Position: Junior SOC Analyst

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $69 Per hour

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Junior SOC Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to potential security threats to our organization. As a key member of our Security Operations Center (SOC), you will play a crucial role in protecting our company's assets and ensuring the integrity of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor various security systems and tools to identify potential security incidents.
• Analyze and investigate security alerts, events, and logs to determine the nature and severity of the threat.
• Utilize threat intelligence and other resources to identify emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
• Work closely with other members of the SOC and cross-functional teams to respond to and mitigate security incidents.
• Document and report on security incidents, including root cause analysis and recommendations for remediation.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for security monitoring and incident response.
• Participate in incident response exercises and table-top simulations to ensure readiness in the event of a real incident.
• Stay current with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
• Assist with security awareness training and education for employees.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in a security-related role, preferably in a SOC environment.
• Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and vulnerability scanners.
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO, or CIS.
• Experience with incident response and handling security incidents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CEH, or GIAC are a plus.
