Position: Edge Computing Engineer

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $115 Per hour

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Edge Computing Engineer to join our dynamic team. As an Edge Computing Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and implementing innovative edge computing solutions to improve our company's overall performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of edge computing technology into our existing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the product development team to understand business requirements and design edge computing solutions to meet those needs.
• Develop and maintain the architecture for edge computing systems, including hardware, software, and network components.
• Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of edge computing systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Work with vendors and suppliers to evaluate and select the best edge computing hardware and software components for our company.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest edge computing technologies and trends to continuously improve our systems and processes.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and departments on edge computing-related issues.
• Participate in the development and implementation of security protocols and measures for edge computing systems.
• Document all aspects of the edge computing architecture, including design, installation, configuration, and maintenance procedures.
• Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of edge computing technology with other systems and processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in edge computing or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of edge computing concepts, architectures, and protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, and REST.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Java, C++, and Python.
• Experience with edge computing platforms and tools such as Microsoft Azure IoT Edge, AWS IoT Greengrass, or Google Cloud IoT Edge.
• Solid knowledge of networking concepts and technologies, including TCP/IP, routing, and VLANs.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing edge computing solutions.
