Position: Junior API Documentation Specialist

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $60 Per hour

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior API Documentation Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a Junior API Documentation Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining clear and concise documentation for our APIs. You will work closely with our development team to understand and document the technical details of our APIs, ensuring that our clients have a seamless experience while using our APIs. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology and has a strong interest in technical writing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the development team to understand and document the technical aspects of our APIs
• Create and maintain detailed and accurate API documentation for both internal and external use
• Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and in line with the latest changes to our APIs
• Work closely with the product team to gather requirements and incorporate them into the API documentation
• Identify and address any gaps or inconsistencies in the existing documentation
• Continuously improve the structure and format of the API documentation to make it more user-friendly
• Conduct regular reviews of the documentation to ensure its accuracy and relevance
• Assist in the development and maintenance of other technical documentation, such as user guides and release notes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technical Writing, or a related field
• Previous experience in technical writing, specifically in API documentation
• Strong understanding of APIs and web services
• Experience with API documentation tools and platforms, such as Swagger or Postman
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Familiarity with software development processes and methodologies
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and Markdown is a plus
