Job Title: Senior Network Security Engineer

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $190000 - $224000

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network security infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the security of our network and data, as well as provide guidance and support to junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement security solutions for our network infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, VPNs, and other security tools.
• Monitor network traffic and security logs to identify and mitigate potential threats.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate security measures.
• Develop and maintain network security policies and procedures in line with industry best practices and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure security is integrated into the design and implementation of new network systems and technologies.
• Lead incident response efforts, including investigating and resolving security incidents, and implementing preventive measures.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers on network security best practices and procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical security incidents.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network security engineering.
• Strong knowledge of network security protocols, tools, and technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM.
• Experience with security best practices and compliance standards, such as ISO 27001, NIST, and PCI.
• Proven experience in incident response and handling security incidents.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCNP Security are highly desirable.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools is a plus.
