About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Application Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of our company's applications and systems. You will work closely with our development teams to identify potential security risks and implement effective solutions to mitigate them. As a Principal Application Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in protecting our company's valuable assets and maintaining our customers' trust.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the application security program, including establishing security policies, procedures, and standards
• Conduct regular security assessments and penetration testing of our applications and systems to identify vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for remediation
• Work closely with development teams to integrate security controls and best practices into the software development lifecycle
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and recommend security controls for new and existing applications
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the application security team
• Stay updated with the latest security threats and vulnerabilities and proactively implement measures to prevent them
• Develop and maintain security documentation, including security policies, procedures, and guidelines
• Act as a subject matter expert on application security, providing guidance and support to other teams as needed
• Participate in incident response and provide technical expertise during security incidents
• Conduct security training and awareness sessions for employees to promote a security-conscious culture
• Lead and participate in security audits and compliance assessments
• Continuously improve the application security program by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing effective solutions
• Monitor and analyze security logs and alerts to identify potential security incidents and take appropriate actions

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in application security, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Strong understanding of web application security concepts, including OWASP Top 10 and SANS Top 25
• Hands-on experience with common application security tools and techniques, such as SAST, DAST, and penetration testing
• Proven experience in developing and implementing secure coding practices and security controls for web applications
• Knowledge of secure coding languages and frameworks, such as Java, .NET, and AngularJS
• Familiarity with cloud security, including AWS or Azure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team of security professionals
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, or GIAC are preferred
• Passion for staying updated with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and best practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
