Position: Lead Big Data Specialist

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $123 Per hour

Role Summary: We are seeking an experienced and driven Lead Big Data Specialist to join our team. As the Lead Big Data Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our big data strategy and architecture. You will lead a team of data engineers and analysts to ensure the successful execution of big data projects and initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of big data technologies, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the company's big data strategy and architecture, ensuring alignment with business objectives and goals.
• Lead a team of data engineers and analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful execution of big data projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business requirements and use cases for big data solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance big data solutions using technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases.
• Perform data analysis and modeling to identify patterns and trends, and make recommendations for data-driven decision making.
• Ensure data security and compliance with data privacy regulations through the implementation of appropriate security measures and processes.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in big data technologies and make recommendations for their integration and utilization within the company.
• Lead the implementation of data governance best practices to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of data within the organization.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to big data solutions, including architectural diagrams, data flow diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Communicate updates and progress on big data projects to stakeholders, including senior management and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in big data technologies, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
• Strong understanding of big data concepts and technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL databases, and data warehousing.
• Experience in designing and implementing big data solutions, including data ingestion, processing, storage, and visualization.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with cloud-based big data platforms, such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex data-related issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in data governance and compliance is a plus.
• Certifications in big data technologies are a plus.
