Position: Junior Network Security Specialist
Location: San Francisco, California, United States
Salary: $114000 - $144000
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Junior Network Security Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a Junior Network Security Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our organization's network and systems. You will work closely with our senior network security specialists to implement and maintain security measures that protect our company's data and assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze network traffic for potential security threats
- Investigate and respond to security incidents and breaches
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Implement and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security tools
- Participate in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures
- Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and technologies
- Provide support to end-users on security-related issues
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure security measures are integrated into all aspects of our network and systems
- Conduct security training and awareness sessions for employees
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in network security
- Strong understanding of network protocols and security technologies
- Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security tools
- Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST)
- Ability to analyze and interpret network traffic to identify potential threats
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are a plus
