Job Title: Lead Virtualization Specialist

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $123 Per hour

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Virtualization Specialist to join our dynamic team. As the Lead Virtualization Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our virtualization environment, ensuring optimal performance and scalability. You will also serve as the subject matter expert for all virtualization-related projects and provide technical guidance and support to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of our virtualization environment, including server virtualization, desktop virtualization, and storage virtualization
• Monitor and maintain the virtual infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and scalability
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to virtualization, including performance, capacity, and integration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute virtualization projects
• Serve as the subject matter expert for all virtualization-related initiatives and provide technical guidance and support to the team
• Develop and maintain documentation for virtualization processes, procedures, and configurations
• Stay up-to-date with the latest virtualization technologies and trends, and implement best practices to improve efficiency and performance
• Train and mentor junior virtualization team members, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning
• Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure timely and effective resolution of any virtualization-related issues
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support when necessary

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in virtualization, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role
• Strong experience with server virtualization technologies, such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM
• Proficiency in desktop virtualization solutions, such as Citrix or VMware Horizon
• Familiarity with storage virtualization technologies, such as SAN or NAS
• In-depth knowledge of virtualization management tools, such as vCenter, vRealize, or System Center Virtual Machine Manager
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex virtualization issues
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Certifications in virtualization technologies, such as VCP, CCNA, or MCSA, are a plus
• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends
