Job Description: Lobox is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Data Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Principal Data Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining our data platform, which serves as the backbone for all data-driven initiatives within the company.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, data analysts, and software engineers to design, develop, and implement scalable data solutions. You will be responsible for the end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of our data platform, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of our data platform, including data ingestion, storage, processing, and visualization components.
• Work closely with data scientists and analysts to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and implement data models, data pipelines, and data warehouses to support various data analytics and reporting needs.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate data platform components with existing systems and applications.
• Optimize data platform performance and scalability by identifying and addressing bottlenecks and implementing best practices.
• Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the reliability and availability of the data platform.
• Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering and analytics, and recommend their adoption where appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in a lead/managerial role.
• Extensive experience with data platform development and architecture, including data ingestion, storage, processing, and visualization.
• Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
• Hands-on experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex data-related issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
