Position: IT Release Manager

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $115 Per hour

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Release Manager to join our team. As an IT Release Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases within our organization. You will work closely with development teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely and successful delivery of software releases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain release schedules, coordinating with development teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives and project timelines.
• Plan and execute release processes, including software builds, deployments, and post-release activities.
• Manage and prioritize release issues and risks, communicating with stakeholders and providing timely updates on release progress.
• Coordinate with testing teams to ensure proper testing and quality assurance of software releases.
• Implement and maintain release management best practices, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency across teams.
• Conduct post-release reviews and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve any interdependencies or conflicts between releases.
• Manage and maintain release documentation, including release notes and deployment instructions.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in release management to continually improve our processes and procedures.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior release management team members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in release management within an IT environment.
• Strong understanding of software development processes, including Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience with release management tools, such as JIRA, Git, or Jenkins.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering software releases on time and within budget.
• ITIL certification is a plus.
