Position: Software Configuration Engineer

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $100 Per hour

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Configuration Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Software Configuration Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the configuration of our software products. You will work closely with our development and quality assurance teams to ensure that our products are released with high quality and in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with development teams to understand product requirements and ensure that the software is configured to meet those requirements.
• Design and implement software configuration management processes to support the development, testing, and release of software products.
• Develop and maintain software configuration documentation, including version control, build procedures, and release notes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software configuration, working closely with the development and quality assurance teams.
• Continuously monitor and improve the software configuration process to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure that all software configurations are up to date and accurately reflect the intended state of the product.
• Research and implement new tools and technologies to improve the software configuration process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement software release plans.
• Communicate with stakeholders to provide updates on software configuration status and address any concerns or issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a software configuration or release management role.
• Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies.
• Proficient in version control systems such as Git, SVN, or Mercurial.
• Experience with build tools such as Apache Maven, Gradle, or Ant.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
