Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $115 Per hour

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. As an IT Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's overall security posture. You will work closely with our IT team to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate them. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network security, knowledge of current security technologies, and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest security trends and threats.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within our network and systems
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the protection of company data and systems
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, including conducting forensic investigations and implementing remediation plans
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security is integrated into the development and deployment of new systems and applications
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices, and make recommendations for improvement as needed
• Conduct security awareness training for employees and educate them on best practices for maintaining the security of company data and systems
• Manage and maintain security tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-virus software
• Participate in security audits and assist with compliance efforts, such as PCI and HIPAA
• Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the company's ability to recover from security incidents or disasters
• Act as a subject matter expert on security-related matters and provide guidance and support to other team members as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT security roles, with a focus on network security
• Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
• Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and techniques
• Knowledge of security standards and regulations, such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR
• Familiarity with security tools, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and anti-virus software
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CEH, and Security+
• Experience with cloud security, such as AWS or Azure, is a plus
