Position Title: Lead API Developer
Location: San Francisco, California, United States
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead API Developer to join our dynamic team. As the Lead API Developer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of our company's API infrastructure. This is a leadership position that requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable and efficient API solutions that meet business requirements
- Lead a team of API developers and provide technical guidance and mentorship
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely resolutions
- Monitor and maintain the performance and security of the API infrastructure
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in API development and recommend improvements to enhance our API offerings
- Prepare and present reports on API usage and performance to stakeholders
- Manage and prioritize tasks and deadlines for the API development team
- Train and onboard new team members and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in API development
- Proven experience in leading and managing a team of API developers
- Strong knowledge of API design principles, patterns, and best practices
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python
- Experience with API management platforms such as Apigee, Mulesoft, or Kong
- Familiarity with REST and SOAP protocols and API security standards
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality and scalable API solutions
- Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus
