Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop and maintain Sybase database systems to support our company's applications and business requirements
Collaborate with developers and database administrators to optimize database performance and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
Write efficient and high-quality SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate and analyze data
Develop stored procedures, triggers, and functions to automate data processing tasks
Monitor database activity and performance, and make recommendations for improvements
Ensure data integrity and security by implementing appropriate data control measures
Participate in the design and implementation of database backup and recovery strategies
Keep up-to-date with new Sybase features and technologies and make recommendations for their implementation
Provide technical support to other team members and assist in resolving any database-related issues
Document database design, changes, and processes for future reference

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Sybase databases
Proficiency in SQL and database development tools such as Sybase Central and SQL Advantage
Strong understanding of database principles and best practices
Experience with database performance tuning and query optimization
Familiarity with database backup and recovery processes
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
