Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Applied Scientist to join our dynamic and innovative team. As the Lead Applied Scientist, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of applied scientists, while also playing a hands-on role in developing and implementing advanced scientific solutions. This is a leadership position that requires a strong background in applied science, as well as excellent communication and management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of applied scientists, providing mentorship, guidance, and support in their scientific research and development efforts.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, and product management, to identify business problems and develop innovative solutions.
• Conduct research and develop advanced algorithms and models to solve complex business problems, using a variety of techniques such as machine learning, data mining, and statistical analysis.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research in the field of applied science and identify opportunities for applying new techniques and methodologies to our business challenges.
• Communicate complex scientific concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership and external partners.
• Take an active role in project planning and management, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the applied science team, encouraging experimentation and exploration of new ideas.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in applied science, with a proven track record of developing and implementing advanced algorithms and models.
• Strong understanding of machine learning, data mining, and statistical analysis techniques.
• Experience leading and managing a team of applied scientists.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Passion for continuous learning and keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field of applied science.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
