Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Data Governance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data governance principles, practices, and tools, as well as a strong background in data management and compliance.

As a Senior Data Governance Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our data governance strategy. This will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to establish policies, processes, and standards for data management, data quality, and data security. You will also be responsible for monitoring and enforcing these policies and ensuring that our data assets are in compliance with relevant regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.

In addition to governance and compliance, the Senior Data Governance Specialist will also play a critical role in driving data-driven decision making across the organization. You will partner with business stakeholders to identify key data needs and requirements, and work with IT and data teams to ensure that these needs are met through effective data governance practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement data governance policies, processes, and standards in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and enforce data governance policies to ensure compliance and data quality.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and requirements and ensure that they are met through effective data governance practices.
• Collaborate with IT and data teams to establish and maintain data quality and data security protocols.
• Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Provide guidance and support to data governance team members and other stakeholders on data governance principles and practices.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in data governance and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a similar role.
• Thorough understanding of data governance principles, practices, and tools.
• Strong knowledge of data management and compliance regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are a plus.
