Job Title: Principal Virtualization Engineer

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $247000 - $288000

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Virtualization Engineer to join our team. As the Principal Virtualization Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's virtualization infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our virtualization solutions meet the needs of the organization and drive innovation within our IT department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of virtualization solutions to support our company's business objectives
• Develop and maintain virtualization standards, policies, and procedures
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members and ensure that best practices are followed
• Monitor and troubleshoot virtualization systems to ensure high availability and performance
• Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate virtualization solutions with other technologies and systems
• Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for enhancements to our virtualization infrastructure
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in virtualization technologies and make recommendations for adoption as appropriate
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements
• Participate in the planning and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining virtualization solutions in a large enterprise environment
• Expertise in virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, and/or KVM
• Solid understanding of server, storage, and networking technologies
• Strong knowledge of scripting and automation tools
• Experience with cloud-based virtualization solutions is a plus
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Proven track record of leading virtualization projects from conception to completion
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
