Position: Junior IT Security Analyst

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $114000 - $144000

Overview: We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior IT Security Analyst to join our growing team. As a Junior IT Security Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting with the implementation and maintenance of the company's IT security measures. You will work closely with the IT Security team to ensure the protection of our company's sensitive information and systems. This position offers the opportunity for growth and development in the field of IT security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the company's IT security policies and procedures
• Monitor network activity for potential security threats and report any suspicious activity to the IT Security team
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend solutions
• Assist with the installation and configuration of security software and hardware, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software
• Collaborate with the IT team to ensure all systems and applications are up to date with the latest security patches and updates
• Respond to and resolve security incidents in a timely manner, following established protocols
• Conduct security awareness training for employees to educate them on best practices for protecting sensitive information
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in IT security and make recommendations for improvement as necessary

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 1-2 years of experience in IT security or a related field
• Knowledge of security frameworks and regulations (e.g. NIST, GDPR, etc.)
• Familiarity with security tools such as vulnerability scanners, intrusion detection systems, and firewalls
• Basic understanding of networking protocols and infrastructure
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA Security+, CISSP, etc.) are a plus
