Position: Senior Middleware Engineer

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $190000 - $224000

Responsibilities:

• As a Senior Middleware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining middleware systems and applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy middleware solutions that support business operations and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop middleware solutions in accordance with business requirements.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex middleware issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define system specifications.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for middleware systems and applications.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of middleware systems.
• Implement and maintain security protocols and best practices for middleware systems.
• Monitor middleware systems and applications to ensure availability, reliability, and performance.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup plans for middleware systems.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in middleware technologies.
• Mentor and train junior engineers on middleware technologies and best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on project status and issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in middleware engineering.
• Strong experience with middleware technologies such as IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, or JBoss.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Shell.
• Knowledge of database technologies such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or MySQL.
• Experience with cloud technologies and virtualization.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and security protocols.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Certifications in middleware technologies are a plus.
