Salary: $247000 - $288000

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Build Engineer to join our team and lead our software build process. As a Principal Software Build Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, stability, and efficiency of our software builds. You will work closely with our development team to implement and maintain automated build processes, as well as troubleshoot and resolve build issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, experience with build automation tools, and a passion for streamlining and optimizing build processes.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of automated build processes for our software products
• Collaborate with developers to ensure that build scripts are efficient and meet project requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve build issues, including identifying and addressing code conflicts and errors
• Maintain and improve existing build processes, including implementing new technologies and tools as needed
• Monitor and track build performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to increase efficiency
• Work closely with the development team to ensure that code changes are properly integrated into the build process
• Develop and maintain documentation for build processes and procedures
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in build automation tools and techniques, and make recommendations for improvements to our build process
• Mentor and train junior build engineers, providing guidance and support as needed
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to developers on code changes that may impact the build process

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years of experience in build engineering
• Strong knowledge of build automation tools such as Jenkins, Maven, or Gradle
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
• Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery principles
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for continuous learning and staying updated on industry advancements and best practices
