Position: Database Migration Specialist

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $92 Per hour

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Database Migration Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and executing the migration of databases from one platform to another. You will work closely with our IT team to ensure a smooth and efficient transition of data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing databases and develop a detailed plan for migration
• Design and implement data migration processes, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
• Develop scripts and programs to automate the migration process
• Collaborate with the IT team to identify and resolve any technical issues
• Test and troubleshoot migrated data to ensure it meets business requirements
• Develop and maintain documentation for the migration process
• Provide support and training to end-users on the new database platform
• Monitor and track database performance after migration, making necessary adjustments as needed
• Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and trends to suggest improvements for future migrations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in database management and migration
• Strong knowledge of database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.
• Proficiency in database scripting and programming languages (SQL, PL/SQL, Python, etc.)
• Experience with database migration tools and processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
