Position: Lead API Integration Specialist
Location: San Francisco, California, United States
Salary: $123 Per hour
Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead API Integration Specialist to join our dynamic and innovative team. As a Lead API Integration Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining API integrations for our products and services. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of API integration solutions for our products and services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements
- Design, develop, and maintain robust API integrations using best practices and industry standards
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of API integrations to ensure high quality and reliability
- Create and maintain technical documentation for API integrations, including process flows, data mappings, and system architecture diagrams
- Continuously monitor and improve API integration performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in API integration technologies and recommend improvements to existing processes and systems
- Mentor and train junior API Integration Specialists and provide technical guidance and support as needed
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to integrate their APIs into our systems
- Act as the subject matter expert for all API integration-related inquiries and provide support to other teams as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in API integration development, preferably in a lead role
- Strong understanding of APIs, web services, and integration technologies (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML)
- Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript
- Proficient in API development tools and platforms such as Postman and Swagger
- Proven experience in designing and implementing API integrations using API management platforms (e.g. MuleSoft, Apigee)
- Thorough understanding of API security protocols and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience in mentoring and leading a team is preferred
- Relevant certifications in API integration or related fields are a plus
