Position Title: Systems Operations Engineer

Location: New York, New York, United States

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Operations Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Systems Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our company's systems and infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration, networking, and troubleshooting, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain company's systems and infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, and networking components
• Monitor systems performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise, ensuring maximum uptime and availability
• Collaborate with software developers and other teams to optimize system performance and implement new features
• Develop and maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures
• Lead efforts for disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure business continuity
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and make recommendations for improvements to current systems
• Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, and implement necessary measures to maintain data integrity and confidentiality
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems and services
• Mentor and train junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to improve overall team capabilities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration and operations, preferably in a large-scale environment
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, virtualization technologies, and networking protocols
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Proficiency in scripting languages, such as Bash, Python, or Perl
• Familiarity with configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues in a timely manner
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment is a plus
