Position: Junior Data Reliability Engineer

Salary: $114000 - $144000

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Data Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. As a Junior Data Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our data systems. You will work closely with our data engineering and data science teams to design, build, and maintain our data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data systems and a passion for ensuring that data is accurate, secure, and easily accessible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain the health of our data systems, including databases, data pipelines, and data warehouses
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or outages in a timely manner
• Collaborate with data engineering and data science teams to design and implement data solutions
• Develop and maintain monitoring tools and processes to ensure data quality and system performance
• Implement and maintain disaster recovery plans for our data systems
• Conduct performance testing and optimization to ensure efficient data processing
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in data reliability and implement best practices
• Document system processes and standards for future reference
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and issue resolution

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role
• Strong understanding of database design and data modeling concepts
• Hands-on experience with SQL and programming languages such as Python or Java
• Experience with data pipeline tools like Kafka or Spark
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk or Datadog
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and manage multiple priorities
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
