Salary: $247000 - $288000

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Data Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. As a Principal Data Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our data systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain data systems that support our company's growth and success. This is a key role that requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking to drive continuous improvement and maintain the highest standards of data reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain highly available and scalable data systems that support our company's data infrastructure
• Develop and implement data reliability best practices and standards to ensure the stability and performance of our data systems
• Monitor and troubleshoot data systems to identify and resolve any issues proactively
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data system requirements and provide recommendations for improvements
• Lead and mentor a team of data reliability engineers to drive a culture of continuous learning and improvement
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Develop and maintain documentation for data systems, processes, and procedures
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies related to data reliability and make recommendations for their implementation
• Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to ensure data reliability is integrated into the entire data lifecycle
• Participate in on-call rotation to respond to any data system emergencies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering, data reliability, or a related role
• In-depth knowledge and experience with data storage and processing technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, SQL, NoSQL, and cloud-based data storage
• Strong understanding of data management principles, data architecture, and data security
• Experience with data monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Splunk, Datadog, or ELK stack
• Proven experience in designing and implementing highly available and scalable data systems in a production environment
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and mentor a team
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with changing priorities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
