Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Big Data Platform Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Big Data Platform Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our company's big data platform. This role requires a strong background in data management, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for utilizing cutting-edge technologies to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a robust big data platform that meets the needs of our company's data initiatives
• Manage a team of data engineers and analysts, providing guidance and direction to ensure the successful delivery of projects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures to ensure the security, accuracy, and integrity of data
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the big data platform
• Monitor and analyze data performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments
• Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of the big data platform to ensure maximum availability and efficiency
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts as needed to support the big data platform
• Conduct regular training and development sessions for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in big data technologies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role
• Strong understanding of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases
• Experience with cloud-based data solutions (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex data projects on time and within budget
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
• Familiarity with data governance principles and best practices
• Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools
