Job Title: Big Data Tester

Salary: $152000 - $192000

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Big Data Tester to join our dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in testing and validating large volumes of data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency. The Big Data Tester will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our data-driven products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and develop test plans
• Design and execute test cases to validate data quality, integrity, and accuracy
• Identify and report data issues, defects, and anomalies in a timely manner
• Develop and maintain automated testing scripts and tools for testing large datasets
• Conduct performance testing to ensure data processing and retrieval are efficient and scalable
• Use SQL to query and manipulate data for testing purposes
• Work closely with data engineers to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues
• Analyze test results and provide recommendations for improvements
• Participate in design and code reviews to ensure data quality and integrity are maintained
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in big data testing
• Train and mentor junior team members on testing processes and methodologies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in big data testing, preferably in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data integration methods
• Proficient in SQL and experience with data querying and manipulation
• Hands-on experience with big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, and Hive
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Java for test automation
• Familiarity with data quality tools and methodologies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
