Salary: $190000 - $240000

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced API Security Specialist to join our dynamic team. As an API Security Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our company's Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). You will work closely with our development and infrastructure teams to identify potential security risks and implement measures to protect our APIs from potential threats. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of API security protocols and best practices, as well as a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular security assessments and audits of our APIs to identify potential vulnerabilities and risks.
• Develop and implement security protocols and procedures to protect our APIs from potential threats.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure that security measures are integrated into the API development process.
• Monitor and analyze API traffic to identify and mitigate any suspicious or malicious activity.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and trends in API security and make recommendations for improvements to our existing security measures.
• Work with third-party vendors and partners to ensure the security of our APIs when integrated with their systems.
• Investigate and respond to any reported security incidents related to our APIs.
• Develop and maintain documentation for API security protocols and procedures.
• Train and educate other team members on API security best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in API security or related field.
• Strong understanding of API security protocols such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, and API keys.
• In-depth knowledge of web application security concepts and best practices.
• Experience with API security testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or Burp Suite.
• Familiarity with network security technologies and protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
