Salary: $114 Per hour

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Cobol Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Principal Cobol Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex Cobol applications. You will utilize your expertise in Cobol programming to deliver efficient and high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cobol development, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement complex Cobol applications for our clients
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements
• Write efficient, well-structured, and maintainable code in Cobol
• Troubleshoot and debug any issues that arise during the development process
• Conduct unit testing to ensure code quality and functionality
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to Cobol development
• Mentor and guide junior developers in best practices of Cobol programming
• Act as a subject matter expert and provide technical guidance to the team and stakeholders
• Identify and suggest improvements to existing applications to enhance performance and functionality
• Work closely with project managers to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide project updates and progress reports

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Cobol development
• Strong knowledge of Cobol programming language and its concepts
• Experience with mainframe technologies such as CICS and JCL
• Proficiency in SQL and database design
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Experience in mentoring and guiding junior developers is a plus
