Location: New York, New York, United States
Salary: $171000 - $208000
About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ruby Developer to join our dynamic and innovative team. As a Senior Ruby Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality web applications using Ruby on Rails. This is a senior-level position that requires a strong understanding of software development principles and a proven track record in building scalable and efficient applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Identify and fix bugs in a timely manner
- Optimize application performance and scalability
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and industry best practices
- Mentor and guide junior developers to improve their skills and knowledge
- Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Participate in agile development processes, including planning, grooming, and retrospectives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in web application development using Ruby on Rails
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns
- Proficient in relational databases, specifically MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for learning and staying updated with new technologies
